Please Note: Smoking is not permitted inside any of our Motorhomes. Thank you.
Eligibility & Licences
We can insure drivers who are aged from 25 to 75 years old. They must be of good health, and have held a full driving licence valid for the vehicle to be hired (see FAQ) for at least two years. The licence should ideally be free of endorsements for the past five years. Persons with serious convictions within the last eleven years may not be permitted to drive the vehicles.
A full licence MUST be produced at the time of vehicle collection. If this is a photo-card licence you must produce both the card AND the counterpart licence.
Visitors from abroad are advised to obtain an International Driving Licence.
If you do not meet these criteria it does not automatically disqualify you from driving, but we shall need to refer to our insurance company to check if they will offer insurance cover.
Vehicle Collection & Return
On collection the motorhome will have a full tank of fuel, it is the hirers responsibility to make sure that the tank is full of the correct fuel before it is returned. The hire period normally commences at 3.00pm on Fridays and terminates at 12pm (noon) the following Friday for return. Earlier collection times and weekend collection may be arranged at quieter times of the year..All hire vehicles are collected from our depot near Richmond, North Yorkshire.
Documentation
A current and valid driving licence must be shown by all potential drivers of the vehicle upon collection. If this is a photo-card licence you must produce both the card and the counterpart licence.
You will need to provide the following documentation at the time of vehicle collection:
- Driving Licence (if a photocard licence this includes the counterpart licence)
- Passport - for photographic proof
- Utility bill or similar as proof of address
Payment
A deposit of £350 for UK travel and £500 for European travel is payable on reservation. This acts as a reservation deposit initially and then acts as the damage deposit (see FAQ) during the hire. This sum is fully refundable at the end of the hire provided the vehicle is returned clean, undamaged and on time. The hire charge is payable 28 days prior to commencement of hire. In the event any amount is not paid when due, the Company reserves the right to cancel the booking.
Insurance
The hire vehicle is comprehensively insured by the Company for the named driver(s) only. The Hirer is responsible for the excess of £350 for UK travel and £500 for European travel deposited upon reservation and in the event of any damage to the vehicle during the period of hire the deposit will not be refunded. This includes loss of equipment, damage to tyres, windscreen breakage and loss of roof lights. Insurance only covers the vehicle for the hire time contracted thus late return of the vehicles would incur a traffic offence under the Road Traffic Act. The company must be notified if the vehicle is to be taken over seas and the hirer will require a minimum of Green Card Insurance and 5 Star AA Recovery ( to protect both parties) both of which will be supplied by the Company at a cost to the hirer.
The Hirer's personal property is not covered by the Company's Insurance. We recommend that you take out your own holiday insurance to cover this. Hirers are welcome to leave their cars with us for the duration of their hire They will be stored in a locked garage. All cars are left at owners risk and the Company can accept no responsibility for any damage or loss during this time, unless the Company is responsible due to a failure to take reasonable care.
